Part of our mission is to interpret these foreign cultures to you through food, because cuisine is such an important part of these cultures.

We want you to be comfortable when you need to be, but want to push you to explore new possibilities. For some people that’s riding public transport, eating street food, or chatting with locals. For others that may be breaking off from the group for an hour to discover the back streets of new neighborhood. We’re here to help you become a better traveler.

It’s not all about pushing your comfort zone. Traveling with us is a time to just enjoy travel and the joys of a place without having to worry about reserving hotels or finding restaurants that won’t make you sick or break your budget, or worrying about what part of the city is safe to walk in at night. We know these destination in and out and we make all the logistical arrangements.

We run active tours! This means you are doing and experiencing–not sitting in a tour bus listening to a lecture. Our style of travel is fun. If you’ve never traveled like a backpacker–now is your chance–and you get to do it with the safety, comfort, and security of a small group! You’ll feel young strapping on your backpack and free wheeling it around Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, or even Colombia.

Our relaxed pace of travel makes everybody happy. Retiree-age travelers get the extra time they need while younger travelers with more energy get a chance to explore on their own. Having two guides means our small group of 12 or less can split in two if necessary.

On a typical group tour, the only resident of the country you’re likely to meet is your tour guide. We organised meet ups with locals, so you get talk to an ordinary person to ask them what life is really like for them in their country.

Our tours stay at small guesthouses and eat at family-run cafes whenever possible. Your money is staying at the local level whenever possible. Even our tour company is a small business owned by a US-Malaysian partnership based in Malaysia!

Some travelers want all the details and travel logistics taken care of and that’s fine, we do it for you. But other travelers want to learn the tricks and skills of independent travel. That’s why we’re willing to share with you some of the techniques that we learned through trial and error over the years.
Learn about the culture
You’ll learn about the culture of our destination as we travel. We’re not going to drop you off at a dance performance for tourists but rather you’ll learn about the culture and contemporary life of the place through personal encounters, as we make our way through.
Discover a new place
We run tours to the places we know best! Malaysia & Singapore, Borneo (Malaysia), Taiwan, and Colombia are our favorite locales. We’ll give you introductions to these places and explore life and culture below the surface.
