We recently visited Albany, NY and got invited to take a tour with the Albany Aqua Ducks. Runaway Juno and I put this stop-motion video together—the tour was as much fun as the video. The Aqua Duck’s guides bring a lot of humor and life to the tour, but really it’s Albany’s history and architecture that shine through.
So much of Albany’s rich history I didn’t know, and I got the sense that locals taking the tour were learning quite a bit about their own city too.
For anyone that doesn’t know, a “duck” tour is a ride aboard an amphibious vehicle that drives you through the streets and then as a boat on the river. There are similar duck-like tours in Boston, Philadelphia, and plenty of other cities.
This is our second stop-motion video. If you missed it, the first was made during a day in Bangkok, Thailand. You can watch that on YouTube: A Day In Bangkok – Stop-Motion
Albany Aqua Ducks departs from the Albany Visitor’s Center located at 25 Quackenbush Square. They run at least one tour per day, sometimes more. Call 518-462-DUCK for times or visit their website.
Full Disclosure: I was invited for a complimentary tour with the Aqua Ducks, but the words and opinions of this post are entirely my own.

Kudos! Really fun to watch. Can I have one of the duck beak thingy?
Thanks Noel! Come to Albany!!
